The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

  • A deputy was dispatched Sept. 18 regarding a report of a domestic disturbance at a Country Tire Lane residence at Mountain Grove.

The officer made contact with a 74-year-old woman there who said her 45-year-old daughter had struck her in the face the previous night, but she didn’t want her to get in trouble. She said she was having an argument with her daughter’s son, which led to the punch.

The daughter told the officer nothing had happened.

The two were advised of the 12-hour rule.

  • Kristen G. Norris, 41, of 506 W. Highway 17 in Houston, was arrested Aug. 27 for having an active Texas County warrant for a felony charge of hindering the prosecution of a felony.

A deputy made the arrest at a Success Road residence at Success and took Norris to jail. Cash-only bond on the charge is set at $5,000.

  • A Licking man reported on Aug. 28 that a red Chevrolet Camaro was parked on the grass in the front yard of his Highway 32 residence without his permission.

An investigating deputy observed heavy damage to the vehicle’s body, glass and interior. The car was registered to a Newburg man. It was towed away.

  • On Aug. 30, a deputy was dispatched for a medical call at a Rusty Road residence at Houston.

The officer made contact with a 60-year-old man and 56-year-old woman there, and the woman appeared to be under the influence of a drug. She claimed to have consumed snake venom and requested that a helicopter fly her to a hospital in St. Louis.

She also told the officer someone had ordered 100 snakes and had used them to poison her.

An EMS crew arrived, but the woman said she didn’t trust Texas County medical personnel. She was taken to the Texas County Jail and placed in the care of jail staff.

  • A 56-year-old Raymondville man reported theft on Aug. 21.

The man told an investigating officer that over the past year, several items with a total value of $2,800 had been stolen from his Golden Drive residence.

There are no suspects and investigation is ongoing.
