A Mountain Grove man has amassed several charges – including four felonies – after a series of Texas County Sheriff’s Department responses beginning on Nov. 2.
Christopher S. Holt, 38, of 10465 9th Road in Mountain Grove faces the charges. In a case from Nov. 2, Holt is charged with possession of a controlled substance (a felony) and violation of a protection order for an adult (a misdemeanor). In a case from Nov. 8, he is charged with stalking – first degree and tampering with a witness in a felony prosecution (both felonies), and in a case from Nov.13 he is charged with stalking – first degree and violation of a protection order for an adult.
The series of cases began Nov. 2 when a woman reported that her former husband, Holt, was at her residence after being served with an ex-parte the previous night. The woman said her daughter was at the residence and observed two dead dogs, and that the ex-parte listed not harming any pets.
When a deputy arrived at the residence and made contact with Holt, a small bag containing methamphetamine was found in his pocket.
Holt was taken to jail.
Details on the Nov. 8 incident were not available in court records.
On Nov. 13, the woman reported that Holt was driving in circles around her residence and had called her phone multiple times.
A deputy involved in that case found that Holt had an active parole absconder warrant from a conviction in Alaska for manslaughter, robbery and assault.
He is held without bond in the Texas County Jail.
