Gov. Mike Parson declared a state of emergency Nov. 5 after heavy rain swept through the area, damaging bridges and roads and sending flood waters into some businesses and homes.

Well water testing kits are available at the Texas County Health Department at 950 N. U.S. 63 in Houston. The telephone number is 417-967-4131.
