A woman from Licking was seriously injured Thursday morning when her car crossed the snowy centerline and was struck by a Peterbilt in Maries County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said a southbound 2001 Buick LeSabre driven by a 23-year-old Licking driver lost control on snow-covered roadway, crossed the centerline and was struck by a northbound 2023 Peterbilt operated by a 69-year-old man from Rosebud.

She was taken by EMS to Phelps Health in Rolla. The other driver was not injured.

The car was totaled. The Peterbilt had extensive damage. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol said.

At the scene at U.S. 63 and Highway 28 were the Maries County Sheriff’s Department and the Vienna Fire Department.

The patrol no longer releases the names of those involved in accidents, saying the information might be used in scams.
