HOUSTON STORM SHELTER OPENS

BLAZE WEST OF TYRONE
The Houston Rural Fire Department was called at about 4:40 p.m. to Longview Road, where a brush fire was reported.
HIGHWAY AA FIRE RESPONSE
The Houston Rural Fire Department responded at about 2:30 p.m. to a report of smoke coming from a wellhouse on Highway AA east of Houston.
FIRE REPORTED ON FORREST DRIVE
A downed electrical line Friday afternoon sent the Houston Rural Fire Department to Forrest Drive.
Various firefighters were deployed to the area, where a blaze was reported. Officials said fire was apparently sparked by the electrical line.
Intercounty Electric Cooperative Association reported 19 meters were without power in the area.
TYRONE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS
At about 1:10 p.m., the Tyrone Fire Department was called to a fire on Bear Claw Road.
STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARED
Gov. Mike Kehoe signed an executive order Friday declaring a State of Emergency in Missouri in anticipation of severe weather forecasted throughout the state. The Missouri State Emergency Operations Plan has been activated, which enables state agencies to coordinate directly with local jurisdictions to provide assistance.
“The National Weather Service has warned that this fast-approaching storm is likely to bring severe weather across the state, including high winds and an increased risk of tornadoes,” said Kehoe. “I urge all Missourians to stay alert, monitor weather forecasts and follow official warnings. While I hope this declaration proves unnecessary, ensuring our emergency management teams are fully prepared is my top priority.”

The “Dominator,” was seen just before noon at the stop light at South Sam Houston Blvd. and Holder Drive in Houston.
