A company will unveil a paving solution Thursday afternoon to a deteriorated road northwest of Licking.

Information is slated to be released at 3 p.m. at Shafer and Buckner roads, according to a press release from the office of State Rep. Bennie Cook.

What’s called the “Pothole Patrol,” which uses Ez Street Ambient Asphalt, is set to be on Shafer Road, which is dotted with potholes. The roadway is used for those traveling to the George O. White State Nursery, and several homes are situated in the area.

Shafer Road deteriorated and Sherrill Township said in 2023 it could no longer afford to maintain it, and said it reverted it back to the Missouri Department of Transportation, which had the roadway in its road system until 1962.

Earlier, the Texas County Commission in a resolution said MoDOT was aware of the deterioration, and the road “poses an imminent risk of injury/death to the public that requires the use of said road.”
