A Cabool man is charged with three offenses after a burglary at a Cabool storage unit.
Cabool police were called April 28 to a storage unit. Entry was made by cutting a lock.
The victim provided a list of items that had been placed in the unit.
Based on information from a business employee, police were able to obtain a license plate number connected to a Mountain Grove address.
Charged is Clifton W. Koehler, born in 1971. He is charged with second-degree burglary, a class D felony; stealing, a class A felony; and second-degree property damage, a class B misdemeanor.
Police arrived to an address and found a trailer loaded with some of the missing items and saw others on a porch, according to a report.
Koehler told officers that he realized some of the items weren’t his, but he thought a friend had used the unit, too. He cut the lock, he said, because his combination wouldn’t work.
The loss was estimated at about $3,000. Police said they also found a white crystal-like substance from Koehler’s pocket.
Authorities said Koehler has two prior drug-related offenses in Missouri and an active California warrant charging him with a drug-related offense.
