Heavy rain caused flooding in areas south and southeast of Texas County on Friday, authorities said. There were evacuations and heavy damage overnight in West Plains.
All of Business 63 in West Plains is closed, the Missouri Department of Transportation said Saturday. Many other Howell County highways are closed. There are no closed roads in Texas County as of 6:30 a.m.
The National Weather Service says more rainfall is on the way:

âž” Moderate risk for flash flooding through tonight for areas east of Springfield. Considerable/significant flash flooding may occur. A Flood Watch is in effect through this evening.
âž” Additional rainfall amounts of 1-4 inches is possible especially in areas east of Springfield.
