A Wednesday afternoon storm caused damage in Houston near Airport Road and Skyview Terrace.

Several trees were knocked down and an airport hangar was damaged.

“It was a confirmed funnel that spotters watched until becoming rain wrapped as it passed over the south end of the runway,” said Robbie Smith, City of Houston fire chief.

City of Houston Fire Department personnel responded to clean up the area.

According to a report, 866 out of 12,096 tracked meters (7.16%) are without power in Texas County.
