Texas County is under threat of heavy rain and storms, the National Weather Service said.

KEY MESSAGES

âž” Several rounds of heavy rainfall will lead to flash flooding and river rises this weekend. Total rainfall amounts 2-5 inches with localized amounts up to 7 inches, it said.  Houston had received about 1.25 inches as of 7:45 a.m. Saturday

A flood watch is in effect through Sunday evening.

âž” Saturday: Steady showers through the day, with a moderate (level 3/4) risk of excessive rainfall and a marginal (level 1/5) to slight (level 2/5) risk of severe weather.

âž” Sunday: Enhanced (level 3/5) risk for severe weather. More heavy rainfall with thunderstorms. Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 p.m.
