The severe weather threat has increased for this afternoon and evening, with significant tornadoes possible, the National Weather Service said Sunday.

Key Messages

With 2–4 inches of rain having already fallen this weekend in the Ozarks, an additional 1–4 inches is expected today in addition to severe weather and gusty non-thunderstorm winds.

âž” Early this morning: Widespread rain with highest flooding potential north of I-44 and a slight risk (2/5) for severe thunderstorms south of I-44.

âž” This afternoon: Enhanced risk (level 3/5) for severe weather. Large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes will all be possible. More heavy rainfall with thunderstorms. Flood watch remains in effect until 7 p.m.
