Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings April 30 and May 1.

Members:

  • Approved the transfer of Renee Knapp from Burdine Township clerk to treasurer.
  • Appointed the following to Sargent Township: Bill Colborn and Phil Weeks, board members; Jody Kimpfbeck, clerk; and Casey Dixon, treasurer.
  • Commissioners John Casey and Robert Ross attended a township advisory meeting.
  • Reviewed and approved a county picnic liquor license for the Texas County Memorial Hospital Healthcare Foundation’s annual golf tournament.
  • Reviewed the recorder’s completion of training certificate from the Recorders Association of Missouri.
  • Reviewed and acknowledged a letter of resignation from Amber Murray, public administrator’s office, effective May 29.
  • The total cost for the April municipal election was $31,540.39.

In other business, commissioners heard from:

  • Deborah Ferrara concerning Nodaway Lane in Plato.
  • David Scantlin on Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) progress.
  • Wisper Internet, who sent an appreciation letter, concerning a Broadband Equity, Access and Development (BEAD) award.
