As part of a last-day-of-school tradition that began in 1960, Houston Elementary School first graders enjoyed a ride in City of Houston Fire Department trucks Wednesday morning.

Dozens of parents and other people watched the procession of four vehicles, which started at the school on Bryan Street, continued onto Chestnut Street, Grand Avenue, Walnut Street, First Street and Pine Street before concluding where it began.
