Update: Rowan has been taken into custody.

A man and woman each face felony charges after a multi-agency operation on May 2.

Justin Melott, 44, of 2181 Jackson Road at Willow Springs, is charged with possession of a controlled substance (a class D felony). Tabita K. Rowan, 46, same address, is charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon (a class E felony).

At about 6:50 a.m., officers with the South Central Drug Task Force and Texas County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at Melott’s and Rowan’s residence.

During the process, multiple plastic bags containing methamphetamine were found, along with several drug-related items.

The meth seized reportedly weighed 5.5 grams.

Melott and Rowan were arrested and taken to jail. They were released due to signed warrants not being received from the court in the allowable time. Both are wanted on $2,000 cash bond warrants.
