The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
- Daniel C. Spurlin, 31, of Craven Street in Licking, was issued a citation for trespassing – first degree after an incident at a Route 32 residence on June 10.
- On June 21, a deputy was dispatched to Hickory Manor in Licking regarding a report of a domestic disturbance that had occurred in the county.
The officer made contact with a 31-year-old woman there who said there had been a verbal altercation between her and her 37-year-old boyfriend at their Roberson Drive residence at Licking.
The woman told the deputy the argument began over her urinating on herself while at a local truck pull event. She said that when they got home, the man had been verbally demeaning to her and had punched a hole in the wall.
The woman said she didn’t wish to pursue charges and would stay at a friend’s house that night. She was advised of the 12-hour rule.
The officer went to the pair’s residence to speak with the man, but he wasn’t there.
- On May 28, a deputy was dispatched to a Wilderness Lane residence at Mountain Grove regarding a report of theft.
A woman told the officer that her brother had 150-feet of 10-gauge wire stolen from his driveway.
The officer made contact with the brother, who said other items had been also stolen from inside their house. The total value of swiped goods was $1,075.
The brother and sister both reported seeing a silver sedan in the vicinity with a young male driving it.
- On June 11, a Houston man reported theft and property damage at a property he owns on Hamilton Creek Road at Cabool.
The man told an investigating deputy that $300 worth of copper wire had been stolen from a barn, and about $1,000 worth of well pipes had been bent and broken.
