Persons trying to beat the heat in Texas County have access to several cooling centers, according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

Here is a list:

Licking — Licking Bridge Builders, 116 Green St., 573-674-3558. Hours are 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Houston — Texas County Health Department, 950 N. U.S. 63, 417-967-4131. Hours are 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; and Houston Senior Center, 301 S. Grand Ave., 417-967-4119. Hours are 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Summersville — Summersville Senior Center, 129 Rogers, 417-932-4044. Hours are 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Cabool — Cabool Senior Center, 910 Cherry St., 417-962-2860. Hours are 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
