Persistently hot and humid conditions will occur across the area this week, the National Weather Service said.
Daily afternoon highs in the mid- to upper-90s will lead to heat index values between 100-110 degrees through at least Thursday, it said.
Warm overnight temperatures in the 70s each night will provide little relief from the heat.
An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect through 7 p.m. Thursday.
