In preparation for our move to the new library, this is a pre-announcement to the upcoming eventual announcement.
We are starting to move books while the library is still open. Then at some point we will have to close the Houston branch for a few weeks. This is only temporary so we can do the move properly. Be thinking about one of our other wonderful branches you can use in the meantime.
Some great new non-fiction has hit the shelves: “Something to Remember Me By” and “Kiss Me Like A Stranger” by Gene Wilder; “A Walk in the Park” by Kevin Fedarko; “The Best Minds” by Jonathan Rosen; and “Spitfires” by Becky Aikman. KIDS: “When Dad Travels for Work and When Mom Travels for Work” by Kristopher James Goeden.
COLOR OUR WORLD summer reading art theme has come to a close. The kids had a terrific time these past Thursdays coming into the library for presenters like Marty the Magician and Jelly Otis Music With Balloons. They also drew themselves into a comic book, did art with clay and did some performing arts with music. The kids that completed the program will be awarded gift cards at the pool party on Aug. 1. Thank you so much to all the parents and kids that participated. My biggest thank you to the donors who help make summer reading possible. Last but not least, I thank all the Texas County library staff for making it so wonderful for all the participates.
The library team is the best around!
