Thomas “Tommy” Edward Pearce, 53, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away on July 3, 2025.
Born in Austin, Texas and raised in Houston, Missouri, Thomas called many places home — including Joplin, St. Louis and Kansas City — before returning to Austin, the city he loved.
Thomas was known for his thoughtful generosity and easygoing nature. His happiest days were at home, cooking breakfast, grilling, playing games and simply enjoying time with family.
He was a lifelong Texas Longhorn and found his calling at the University of Texas at Austin, where he worked for over a decade in IT and Cybersecurity.
Above all, Thomas was a devoted husband to Cassie, his partner and best friend for thirty years. His love for her was unwavering; together, they built a home filled with warmth, laughter and support.
He was immensely proud of his daughters, Ashleigh and Emily — especially celebrating their graduations from the University of Texas. Family truly meant everything to him, and his greatest joy was simply having everyone together under one roof.
He also shared a deep bond with his dogs, especially Elsa Pearce, his beloved German Shepherd who passed away earlier this year.
Becoming a grandfather brought him immense joy. He loved sharing stories about Texas with his grandson and looked forward to building their first computer together.
Thomas was so deeply loved by friends and family around the world, including those in England and Egypt whom he never met in person. His kindness, generosity and gentle spirit left an everlasting impression.
His respect for others showed in every relationship — he made people feel comfortable and valued, a trait inspired by his deep love for his English mother and pride in his grandmother’s Native American heritage. He maintained close friendships for decades, even with people across the country, often connecting over video games, and was a popular regular at the local pool hall.
Thomas is survived by his father, Steven Gobble; his wife, Cassie Pearce; his daughters, Ashleigh and Emily Pearce; his son-in-law, Ramsey Mullaney; and his grandson, Malcolm Mullaney.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sherry Gobble; Edward Pearce; and his grandparents, Willa Mae and Floyd Thomas Bates.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Thomas’s name to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, in honor of his mother.

Thomas was a great friend. I first met him when I started working at CompUSA back in 2000. Over the years, I have tons of memories playing video games with him. Last Thursday the world lost a great person. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family in this time of grief. I’m here if you need anything. Rest in peace my friend.
Big Tom was a mentor and a tennis player and individual I always looked up to. He took his time after high school to take me to some tennis tournaments and was always trying to help me improve. I just reconnected with him on facebook and enjoyed our conversations, especially about our kids. He was someone I thought of as really talented and I admired him as a good person. I am thankful he was part of my development in tennis and life.
