The National Weather Service decided to replace its Extreme Heat Warning with a Heat Advisory today (Tuesday, July 22) through Thursday.
Regardless, hot conditions will continue, with forecast afternoon heat index values generally in the 100-105 degree range, it said.
It stated it made the change because the criteria had not been met: Four consecutive days of heat index values of 105 or greater.
