​​The following are excerpts from reports recently generated by the Houston Police Department:

Between Aug. 4 and 10, the Houston Police Department responded to 214 calls for service and initiated 45 traffic stops, resulting in 13 citations and 47 warnings.

  • On Aug. 6, officers arrested Rex L. Wood, 62, of Houston, on an active Texas County warrant per charges of driving while revoked/suspended and no insurance. He was transported to the Texas County Jail, where he was incarcerated after being unable to post the $500 cash-only bond.
  • On Aug. 6, officers responded to the 200 block of Bryan Street for a theft involving fraudulent credit card transactions. The investigation is ongoing.
  • On Aug. 7, officers responded to the 800 block of S. Sam Houston Boulevard for a forgery investigation. Officers arrested Eric J. Buell, 41, of Raymondville, for forgery after he attempted to use fraudulent urine to pass a drug test. Buell was transported to the Texas County Jail, where he was found to be in possession of a crystal-like substance that field-tested positive as methamphetamine. Buell was incarcerated in the jail on charges of forgery, possession of a controlled substance and delivery of a controlled substance into a jail facility.
  • On Aug. 8, officers were called to the 100 block of N. Oakcrest for a well-being check. Upon arrival, officers found a male deceased from natural causes within the residence.
  • On Aug. 8, officers responded to the intersection of Route 17 and Hamrick Street for a motor vehicle crash. A 2012 Ford Fusion was traveling south on Hamrick Street and failed to yield to a 2002 Honda that was traveling west on Route 17. Both drivers received minor injuries and were transported by EMS from the scene.
  • On Aug. 9, officers responded to U.S. 63, near Thomasville Road, for a motor vehicle crash. No injuries were reported.
  • On Aug. 9, officers were called to the 1400 block of S. Sam Houston Boulevard for a burglary and theft. The investigation is ongoing.
