The Houston R-1 School District board of education approved purchasing 7.31 acres of land during a special session Tuesday for its Building Trades property.
The acreage is located at Nichols and Oak Hill drives in Houston. It was unanimously approved at the purchase price of $108,000.
RESIGNATIONS & HIRINGS
The school board accepted the resignations of three paraprofessionals, Karren Nipper, Madison Mazingo and Joshua Kane.
Heather Gallant was hired as a paraprofessional for the upcoming 2025-26 school year, pending a background check.
Also during the meeting, Alicia Thomas was approved as CRT Trainer at the Exceptional Child Cooperative for this year.
