UPDATE: He has been found.

The search for a missing Success man continued Friday morning at daybreak, authorities said.

Law enforcement, fire department volunteers and others searched Thursday night looking for Luie A. Armstrong, 71, a white male who is 6’1”, 140 pounds with white hair, hazel eyes and a mustache.

Emergency personnel walked the area and deployed drones overnight. Armstrong went missing from 14227 Route 32 east of Success at about noon Thursday. That is west of Paddy Creek Road. He was wearing a red T-shirt, blue jeans and blue shoes.

The Texas County Sheriff’s Department reported Armstrong has dementia and may be confused.

At about 10 p.m. Christian Aid Ministries Search and Rescue arrived with nine personnel and a few drones. The Missouri team, a not-for-profit that operates from donations, last was called in the state in April to a drowning at Thomasville.
