Scattered showers and thunderstorms across the area are expected later this morning into afternoon, with the best chances along and north of Interstate 44.
A few isolated strong thunderstorms are possible, capable of producing damaging wind gusts of 50 to 60 miles per hour in addition to localized heavy rainfall.
