An event promoting recovery from addiction took place Saturday (Sept. 27) in Houston.

The march began at the Simple Grow building on U.S. 63 and made its way through downtown Houston, with participants carrying signs of hope and encouragement. Along the route, passing cars honked and waved in support, showing the strength of a community that stands together.

The march concluded at the Texas County Justice Center, where participants gathered in a circle of prayer. Together, they prayed for mercy over those facing the justice system, compassion and wisdom for judges, attorneys and law enforcement officers, healing and restoration for families broken by addiction, breaking the stigma that surrounds recovery, freedom and strength for those still struggling in silence and transformation in the court system to bring hope instead of only punishment.

After the time of prayer, the crowd continued to 511 S. First St., where the celebration continued with live music by Go Ye, free food and powerful testimonies of individuals who have overcome addiction. Each story shared was a living example of God’s mercy and the truth that recovery is possible.
