An official launch for the Texas County Medical Reserve Corps is Oct. 20 in Houston, organizers announced.
A meeting is planned 4 to 7 p.m. on the parking lot of the Texas County Health Department on North U.S. 63 in Houston.
The organization is an all-volunteer team that serves Texas County for:
- Medical emergencies
- Public health emergencies
- Disasters
- Community education
- Supporting emergency services
It is managed by the Texas County Emergency Response Team and sponsored by the county health department.
Agencies and business owners are also invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
