A Texas County man was sentenced recently to 15 years in prison after a jury found him guilty on two charges.
Under the sentence, Wayne Beck could serve 120 days in a shock incarceration program after conviction on an unlawful use of a weapon charge, and be released if he successfully completes it.
Beck also received a one-year sentence for misdemeanor domestic assault.
The charges stem from a November 2024 argument in which Beck struck the teenager with a pistol before firing a shot that struck the teen in the arm and torso. Beck told deputies he was only trying to scare the victim by shooting at the wall. A jury rejected that defense in December.
Beck still faces a third-degree domestic assault charge, a felony, after a Feb. 10 incident.
Beck, born in 1965, was charged after a Texas County Sheriff’s Department investigation. According to a report, Beck is accused of allegedly poking a victim in the chest multiple times.
Beck, according to the victim, threatened him and reminded him of the 2024 shooting, saying, “Do you know what happened to the last person who thought they could touch me?”
