- On April 14, a deputy investigated a report of rape at a Hubbard Street residence at Mountain Grove.
Attempts to interview the 20-year-old woman who was the alleged victim were unsuccessful, as she declined to cooperate with law enforcement or pursue charges.
Mountain Grove police referred the case to the TCSD, after the victim’s 43-year-old mother called to report the situation.
- On Feb. 3, a deputy responded to a report of a vehicle fire at a Route E residence at Houston.
The vehicle (of unreported make and model) was found completely burned next to a partially burned and abandoned house. It was determined to belong to a 33-year-old Houston man who was located nearby.
The man reportedly told the officer he was experiencing a mental health crisis, and multiple knives and live ammunition were found on his person.
The man was taken into custody pending a 96-hour mental evaluation. No charges were filed.
- On Feb. 4, deputies were dispatched to a U.S. 63 residence in Cabool regarding a report of a 55-year-old man armed with a gun and acting suicidal.
Dispatch advised that the man had barricaded himself inside the house and had a rifle and had pointed the gun at family members before pointing it at himself and telling everyone to leave.
A deputy was able to talk the man out of the house without incident. He was taken into custody pending a 96-hour mental evaluation.
- On April 19, a deputy was dispatched to a Finch Drive residence at Cabool regarding a report of a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, the officer made contact with a 55-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman.
The man told the officer the woman had struck him in the face during an argument, and that he didn’t hit her back. The woman said she didn’t hit the man.
The two were advised of the 12-hour rule.
