A report of a potential threat toward the Plato R-V School District was received after school hours Wednesday, the district said in a social media post.

The Texas County Sheriff’s Department was notified and is investigating the potential threat.

“The sheriff’s office and Plato Schools have taken appropriate action to ensure the safety of our students and staff,” said the district.

There is an increased law enforcement presence at the district Thursday, including officers from the sheriff’s department.
