Georgia E. Vollmar, 96, formerly of Houston, Missouri, joined her family and friends in Heaven on May 5, 2026.

She was born on July 11, 1929 at Yukon, Missouri. She was a member of Tyrone Baptist Church and was baptized at Big Creek.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Neville and Virgil Lynch; sister, Nadine; and brothers, Willard and Bob.

She is survived by her son, Lt. Col. Frank Vollmar and daughter-in law Joann Vollmar; daughter, Sandra Jones; grandsons, Tad Vollmar (Ann), Virgil Vollmar and Brock Vollmar; great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and the rest of her loving family.

She worked at St. Louis and, coming home, worked at a garments plant at Licking, then on to Houston at International Shoe Factory, as a shoe cutter. She attended classes at Houston and taught school at Grogan and Clear Springs, in charge of all curriculum of study.

Later, she worked at Brown Shoe Company from 1948 to 1955. She owned and operated Sleepy Hollow from 1951 to 1958.

After moving to Florida in 1961, she graduated from cosmetology school. By 1964, she opened her own business called Georgia’s Hair Stylists. She believed in helping others reach their full potential. Due to her business ethics, she was respected in the community. She remained at the helm for 40 years, before the business was sold.

She returned to Texas County to retire in 2002. While at Houston, she volunteered at several businesses for almost 20 years. She was always optimistic, she touched your life in some way.Arrangements are entrusted to Evans Funeral Home of Houston. Burial is at Vollmar Cemetery in Raymondville.
