Houston, Cabool and Texas County saw mixed results in sales tax revenue collections in April, according to reports from the Missouri Department of Revenue.

Houston

A one-cent sales tax earmarked for parks, police and fire generated $83,310 in April, up $2,568 from the same period a year ago. 

A one-cent general sales tax decreased $977, totaling $87,330.

A quarter-cent sales taxes for transportation totaled $21,004. One for utility work totaled $20,848. 

A use tax applied to online and out-of-state purchases increased $1,483, totaling $18,284 for the month.

Cabool

A one-cent general sales tax totaled $36,350, up $2,598 from the same period a year ago.

A half-cent sales tax for transportation needs was up $1,299, totaling $18,175 in April. 

A half-cent sales tax earmarked for law enforcement totaled $18,069 for the month.

A use tax applied to online and out-of-state purchases increased $2,484, totaling $14,389.

Texas County

For Texas County, merchants collect two half-cent sales taxes. Each totaled roughly $131,078, up about $13,118 each from the same period a year ago. A third half-cent sales tax, which voters decided not to renew in November, collected $95,139, as it winds down.

The sales tax on online and out-of-state sales totaled $121,046.

Revenue from a three-eighths-cent sales tax earmarked for law enforcement totaled $89,216, which was up $11,520 for the month.
