Elizabeth Ann Boswell, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on Sept. 18, 2026, at her home in Polo, Missouri. She was 86 years old.
She was born on Jan. 2, 1940, to Benjamin and Fern (Wensenk) Canterbury in Cabool, Missouri. Ann attended Union, Ragsdale, and Brown Hill elementary schools, and was a member of the Houston High School class of 1957 where she met James and was married on May 27, 1957. Ann’s warm spirit touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Throughout her life, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved to crochet, cherished time spent at the lake and embraced the beauty of the outdoors. Her sweet cats were a source of comfort and joy for her, and her happiest moments were those spent on the farm, where she devoted herself selflessly to the care of her loved ones. A dedicated homemaker, she took great pride in her family, nurturing every member with love and affection.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Fern Canterbury; her stepmother, Mary Canterbury; her sister, Betty Rose; her brother, Jack Canterbury; and her two sons, Randy Boswell and Steven Boswell.
She is survived by her devoted husband, James Boswell; her daughter, Terrie Warner; her son, Shayne Boswell, his wife, Shelley; her brother, Jerry Canterbury; and her sisters, Mary Sue Howell, her husband Robert, Loretta Canterbury, Brenda Garrett, Rena Byrd, Shirley Slagle, and Carol Turner. Ann also leaves behind her stepsisters, Louise McAlaster and Linda Sullins; her stepbrother, Floyd Carter; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Ann’s love, compassion and vibrant spirit will be dearly missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew her.
A celebration of life was held at noon Oct. 3, 2026, at Lake Nehai Tonkayea in Keytesville, Missouri.
