Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings July 2 and 3.

Members:

  • Reviewed several Senior Tax Credit applications.
  • Reviewed the prosecuting attorney’s yearly pay increase pursuant to state statute.
  • Kevin Painter, AirMedCare Network, gave a presentation on Air Evac services for county employees.
  • Reviewed and approved the June 2025 back tax for real and personal property.
  • Discussed purchasing a drone for the sheriff’s department.
  • Reviewed a letter from the collector stating that Paige Feith no longer works in her office effective June 17.
  • Approved a request from the collector/treasurer to remove deceased taxpayers from the tax rolls.
  • The circuit clerk visited with James Huff, Simmons Bank, concerning bank accounts.

In other business, commissioners heard from:

  • David Scantlin with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) updates and county township roads.
  • Grant Wilson, Congressman Jason Smith’s office, on area matters.
  • A citizen with concerns about Lynch Township roads.
  • The post office concerning postage cost for the county.
