Both the Houston girls’ and boys’ basketball teams both take winning streaks into tournaments this week.
The Lady Tigers (6-6) look for their third straight victory in Monday’s 5:30 p.m. matchup with Cabool in the Thayer Winter Classic. On Tuesday, the Lady Tigers face Willow Springs at 6 p.m. Houston is seeded second in the seven-team field.
The Tigers (5-9) have also won two consecutive games entering the 46th Liberty Invitational. Sixth-seeded HHS plays No. 3 Winona at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The boys’ tournament also includes a boys’ bracket. The fifth-seeded JV Tigers play No. 4 Alton at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
