Texas County entered Tuesday at the No. 4 position on the Missouri leaderboard for the spring firearms turkey season.

Texas County hunters had killed 631 turkeys by early Tuesday, according to figures from the Missouri Department of Conservation.

In the county, 506 adult gobblers, 117 juvenile gobblers and eight bearded hens were harvested.

Leading the state are: Franklin (788), Callaway (690), Osage (650), Texas (631), Macon (621) and Miller (604).

In 2023, the spring firearms total in Texas County was 781.

The season ends Sunday.
