An Elk Creek boy was injured at about 7:15 p.m. Dec. 1 in an accident north of Cabool, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

A Licking woman was injured Wednesday night when her vehicle struck a cow in the roadway.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Madison L. Bates, 25, was traveling eastbound on Highway 32 three miles east of Licking when the 5:51 p.m. accident occurred. After striking the animal, her vehicle traveled off the roadway and struck a fence.

Bates, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. The 2006 Pontiac Torrent she was driving was totaled.

The Licking Rural Fire Department assisted at the scene.
