After finishing the crosstown jaunt through the streets of Houston, participants throw colored powder in the air at Rutherford Park.

Healthy Schools Healthy Communities (HSHC) hosted a “Fun Color Run/Walk” event Tuesday, April 25.

HSHC wellness coordinator Earlene Stoops said 76 people participated and another 27 volunteered to perform many tasks, like throwing colored powder at runners, serving healthy food at the end and more.

Runners and walkers began in front of Houston Middle School and finished at Rutherford Park west of Houston Memorial Airport.

“This is all about bringing us all together for the children in our communities and making physical activity and healthy eating fun,” Stoops said.
