Joann Aud

Following an investigation of an incident at her residence, a Houston woman faces multiple felony assault charges and is accused of kicking two deputies.

Joann Aud, 54, of 16188 Horseshoe Drive, is charged with third-degree domestic assault (a class E felony) and third-degree assault – special victim (a class D felony).

According to a deputy’s report, two officers were dispatched to Aud’s house at about 9:30 p.m. last Thursday after her husband reported she had assaulted him. When the officers arrived, they observed blood coming from a corner of the man’s mouth and a red swollen area around his eye, and that his glasses were broken.

The man stated his sister had called him to report a death in the family, and while he was speaking with her, Aud got mad and grabbed the phone away. The man said he asked for the phone back, but she refused and proceeded to hit him in the face 15 or 20 times.

The man told the officers he then tried to hold Aud down to keep her from hitting him, but she started kicking him in the face.

The deputies made contact with Aud (who appeared intoxicated) in a bedroom, and she admitted to being jealous and hitting her husband. She also said she had drank some rum and taken some of her medication, including trazadone and methadone pills, according to a report.

Aud was arrested and placed in handcuffs. While a deputy was walking her down a hallway, she got loose and reportedly kicked the officer in the arm and chest.

The officer took Aud to the ground and the two officers worked to regain control of her. While she was on the ground, she reportedly kicked the second officer in the legs several times.

Aud is in the Texas County Jail on $250,000 bond.
