Houston Elementary School first-grade teacher Rebekah Wann has been nominated for National Life Group’s 2023-24 LifeChanger of the Year award.

Sponsored by the National Life Group Foundation, LifeChanger of the Year recognizes and rewards the very best K-12 educators and school district employees across the United States who are making a difference in the lives of students by exemplifying excellence, positive influence and leadership.

Wann was nominated by her colleague, Jamie Story, who appreciates the guidance Wann has given her as a first-year teacher.

“She has taken the time to sit down with me outside contracted hours and help me become a better educator,” Story said. “She’s even given me material that benefits the students in my classroom.”

In addition to supporting Story, Wann teaches Story’s daughter. She challenges her students by assigning them work out of their comfort zone and pushes them to reach their full potential.
